New Amazing Spider-Man Images Feature the Lizard in Various Transformations and More
With so much promotional material for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man released this month — new viral video and featurette, still images, posters, 4-minute preview of the Lizard (Rhys Ifans), and new trailer — it would appear that Sony/Columbia would be all out of new material to offer hungry fans. Such is not the case.
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has revealed several new images (via ComingSoon) of Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors, aka the Lizard, in various stages of transformation — injecting himself, in full Lizard form, and naked in the sewer back in human fo

Then, we were clued in on the the "Origins" of the movie and of the mission of the spaceship Prometheus. We were also introduced to scientist Elizabeth Shaw (Noo

New Red Band Trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Beheads Everything in Its Path
From the beginning, the adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has seemed like yet another fun, summer blockbuster featuring an iconic former President who secretly led a double life where he would vanquish the undead at night while running the country by day (you know, that old tired premise). The trailers for the movie have shown that extra 3-D surcharge could even be worth it, showing Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) jumping, twirling and taking his axe-wielding justice out on nearby trees and (briefly) on Vampires.
If that wasn't enough to sway audience, the newly released red band trai

Jon Favreau Returns as Happy Hogan to Iron Man 3; Ashley Hamilton to Play a Villain
Perhaps this isn't very surprising, but since actor-director Jon Favreau decided not to return to the director's chair for Iron Man 3 there was some question whether he would reprise his role as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) chauffeur-bodyguard. However, with Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) taking over as director, THR reports Favreau has closed his deal to return as Hogan. Production began on Wednesday in Wilmington, N.C.
Favreau is also returning to produce the movie, something that he made clear more than a week ago, hence the lack of surprise. In a recent interview wit

Mads Mikkelsen to Play Villain in Thor 2; Will Anthony Hopkins Return or Skip for RED 2?
Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has made a living out of playing villains — in the U.S. anyway. After breaking into English-language movies in 2006's Casino Royale, Mikkelsen most recently appeared as the villain Rochefort in The Three Musketeers. Mikkelsen will continue this trend in Thor 2. Variety reports that the actor is in talks to play an undisclosed villain in the movie.
While Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is also set to return, Marvel president Kevin Feige has already revealed that Loki won't be the primary villain in the sequel like he was in Thor and The Avengers. Instead, Thor (Chris

Official Synopsis of Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim
With a title that hints at nothing more than location, it's no wonder that director Guillermo del Toro has taken every possible opportunity to explain that his new sci-fi movie, Pacific Rim, features gigantic mechanized robots battling gigantic monsters or "kaiju," as they are known in Japan (in contrast, Japanese kaiju movies are pretty easy to identify by title alone, e.g., 2001's Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack). Del Toro has spoken at length about his love of kaiju movies, even calling Pacific Rim a "very, very beautiful poem to giant monsters," but the ac

New Banner Posters for The Dark Knight Rises Depict All-Out War in Gotham City
Talk about upping the ante! We couldn't have been any less impressed with the new poster for The Dark Knight Rises that was released earlier this week, but it appears it was only a forerunner of the good things to come. Almost immediately after the "fiery redux" poster hit the 'net, three visually striking (and wet) new character posters popped up online. Now, four epic banner posters/billboards have also been released and they depict no less than all-out war between Batman (Christian Bale), the Gotham City Police Department, and Bane's (Tom Hardy) army, with Catwoman's (Anne Hathaway) alleg

10 Movie Sequels Decades in the Making
Let's be honest for a moment: Sequels are all about money. Sure, they can be artistically satisfying at times, but for the most part it's the studios realizing that you really liked a flick, and that you'd probably be willing to shell out to see something similar. As a result, sequels usually get the greenlight as soon as the studios are relatively sure that the original is a blockbuster, at which point they're rushed into production before you forget that the franchise exists.
Every now and then, though, a sequel gets made long after the original. Such is the case with Men in Black III, arri

Grisly Red Band Trailer for Franck Khalfoun's Maniac Starring Elijah Wood
When most people think of Elijah Wood, they almost immediately associate him with family-friendly roles, such as Frodo Baggins, the loyal and brave Hobbit who saves all of Middle-earth in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy, or as the voice of Mumble in the Happy Feet movies. But, the fresh-faced thirty-one-year-old has also taken his turn acting in more adult fare, playing darker characters like the cannibal killer Kevin in Robert Rodriguez's Sin City with the same zeal he puts into his lighter work.Wood will return to the Shire this December, once again portraying Frodo in Jackson

First TV Spot and International Trailer for New Total Recall Starring Colin Farrell
Swarthy Irish hearthrob Colin Farrell's first stab (bad vampire pun intended) at remaking a popular genre movie was a bust, with his Fright Night remake just barely covering its budget and even failing to beat the 1985 original at the domestic box office. But, Farrell will have another shot at remaking a classic this summer as he fills in for Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglas Quaid in director Len Wiseman's (Live Free or Die Hard) Total Recall remake.Though there's no way for Farrell to compete with the "Austrian Oak" in the body department, all signs point to Wiseman's adaptation of the late g

Breaking Dawn - Part 2 Character Posters Released
It's been a few weeks since anything new from the last chapter of the Twilight Saga was released, but today there are three new character posters out for Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Since there are three of them, it's no surprise that Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) are the characters represented.
In the posters, Bella is looking decidedly un-human with red eyes, granite skin, and striking vampire beauty. She's also wearing what is surely a very chic leather jacket that coordinates nicely with the wool coat that Edward is wearing in his poster. Jac

Charlize Theron Chokes Michael Fassbender in New Prometheus Preview Clip
Whether it was by an android or a corporate shill, the crews of Alien and Aliens found themselves pawns in the hands of the Weyland-Yutani corporation and their pursuit of an alien life form. Since director Ridley Scott's Prometheus is set in the same universe as Alien (perhaps a prequel — vote's not in yet), the presence of both Charlize Theron as Weyland Corporation employee Meredith Vickers, and Michael Fassbender as Weyland's latest android David seemed to imply that the crew of the Prometheus were going to be doubly-screwed by Weyland Industries. However, a recently released feature

In New Trailer for The Watch, the Guys Battle (and Photograph) an Alien
In March, the teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy The Watch (back when it was called Neighborhood Watch) was a simple affair, showing Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Richard Ayoade, and Vince Vaughn driving around their neighborhood in a minivan trying to look like badasses in their matching jackets. The teaser did little to promote the fact that the group would eventually stumble across a possible alien invasion, something that the work-unfriendly red band trailer released earlier this month addressed almost entirely.
Clearly, the alien subplot is a selling point of the movie. The latest, wor

Months after actor Joel Kinnaman (AMC's The Killing) was confirmed to play the lead role in the upcoming remake of Robocop, another cast member has finally been added. THR reports that Gary Oldman has joined the cast of the remake directed by Jose Padilha (Elite Squad).
Like director Paul Verhoeven's 1987 original, Kinnaman will play Alex Murphy, a Detroit cop who is saved from the brink of death by being turned into the cyborg protector of the futuristic city. Unlike the original, Oldman will play a character named Norton, the scientist who creates Robocop and ultimately finds himself stuc

Throughout his long career, actor Tom Cruise has received three Academy Award nominations, the last of which was for Magnolia, director Paul Thomas Anderson's 1999 ensemble drama. Anderson's latest work, The Master, recently debuted its first trailer. Cruise and Anderson apparently remain friendly, as the director screened the movie for him, The Wrap reports; however, Cruise apparently wasn't completely impressed.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Delayed Until 2013; Ted Takes Its Release Date
Last month, Paramount Pictures released the second full-length trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation in a promotional campaign that seemed poised to take advantage of its June 29 release date. The weekend seemed a good fit for the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra sequel, with its competition being male stripper comedy Magic Mike, dramedy People Like Us, and Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection.
However, with only five weeks left before Retaliation was to reach theaters, Paramount decided to delay the sequel — and here's the curious part — nine months. It's now set to open on March 2
